Getting on an airplane at the start of a vacation is an exciting time! Unfortunately, flying is not the most comfortable experience. Some airlines are cutting back on the comfort and adding more and more rows of seats on flights. There are still some easy ways that you can stay comfortable on a long flight, no matter where in the world you’re going!
Tips for Staying Comfortable on a Long Flight:
Upgrade: This is the best way to make sure you’ll have more leg room, better food, and more amenities. If upgrading isn’t an option, you can always try politely asking at the gate for any free upgrades that might be available.
Stretch: Although it’s rare, there is an increased risk for blood clots on long haul flights. It’s a good idea to get up and stretch your legs every so often.
Bring Snacks: Airplane food sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. Bringing your own snacks can help with those in between meal times.
Wear Comfortable Clothes: Long flights call for comfort and function. Wear loose fitting clothes, comfortable shoes, and bring a pair of socks if you’re not already wearing some. You might also want to wear some layers because it can get cold in the cabins.
Noise Cancelling Headphones: Drown out the extraneous noise while you’re sleeping or trying to get some work done. Ear plugs work as well.
Drink Water: Flying dehydrates you, so make sure you drink plenty of water. It’s also good for your skin.
